A little camping

So summer is the season for camping, right? I thought that I'd get in the spirit of things as well and packed up my sleeping bag, an air mattress (that I need to return to my auntie and uncle), a good novel, a flashlight, a good chicklit novel and my spirit of adventure and made the big trek ... to the basement. It's the only way that I can sleep in the extreme heat right now. Yes, I realize that this does truly make me a Canadian but what do you do to survive the heat?

We've had enough of this heat wave. We're ready for winter!! Oops, hubby just read over my shoulder and HE'S not ready for winter, but I am! (And that's saying something after the last winter we had.)

Watch out for those mosquitoes! What an economical way of having a camping trip and you still have the use of indoor facilities.
When you get old like us, you will be able to afford a/c and you won't have to leave your comfy bed to sleep in a cool, dark basement. But great attitude!

I bought a small AC unit when I was in the states in May. It's changed my life. Come over, anytime!

I have to confess if I didn't have my A/C I would be a very grumpy Mummy!! Although I'm not as old as auntie bargainista I sure do love A/C. I thought you were actually going camping, and then I was going to give you a big round of applause, oh well, maybe next time :)

MOTC is alone in the ready for winter thing.

No the heat the best part of the summers. Buy yourself a boat, it ten degrees cooler on the water. I was just talking with your brother and said you could leave at his place. It sound like you have a nice brother.

Although that Auntie and Uncle have said occasionally that they should go and actually visit you and pick up that mattress, they haven't made it there yet. I'm sooo glad we contributed to your Canadian experience. In yester years we always slept in the basement in the heat. Now on hot days I try and park in the shade and waste way too much fuel driving around looking for a shady place to park.
